011 – Is Carrying 1000 lbs Weight On My Shoulders Too much?
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. I hope you are doing great in your corner of the world! As usual, let’s take a breath, smile and send some positive thoughts into the World.
In my next several episodes I will make a couple of bullet points about stress. And maybe, some of them will come as a surprise.

I’ve heard people say, “I feel like I have 1000 lbs weight on my shoulders. I feel stressed out.. Have you heard that from anybody? I have.
Let me put it into perspective. When we are relaxing, on the bed, in the chair, on the beach, in the spa, on the massage table, wherever, and we feel sooooo relaxed, the air we are breathing is pushing on us with the pressure 14.7 psi. That is over 2000 lbs. per square foot. Now, calculate the square footage of your own body, and you will get the number of pounds pressing on our body 24/7 all your life. We all get that, and we all are OK with that.
Why are we not complaining? Because we are used to the pressure, and it is balanced. In fact, if you remove the outside pressure, we will … No, that doesn’t sound good.
What I want you to remember, is that stress is not bad. Stress is what keeps us alive and functional. However, there is justifiable and non justifiable stress. And also there is a balance. I will be talking about it in my other episodes, so stay tuned.
On my web site hpln.org you will find the schedule of classes I teach, as well as links to my audio and video channels.
Thanks for tuning in! Now let’s breathe and Smile. Those 1000 pounds on our shoulders feel so relaxing now.. aren’t they?
I will talk to you next time.
PEACE!
Jin
