Do You Believe in Unbelievable Success?
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you’re having a wonderful day! Let’s breathe and smile.
I will discuss one of my favorite topics again. And I think it is so important, perhaps, because I had to go through some difficult times in life. I am talking about self-doubt, fear and lack of confidence.
These are four things I found out to be true for myself:
1, Neither You nor I will ever achieve the goals if they are outside our belief zone. Period. You can overcome other people’s disbelief, but you won’t cross your own boundaries.
2, The fear is not universal. Which means that genius physicist, amazing scientist may have no belief in his own ability to run a marathon. Just a random example.
3, Changes usually don’t happen overnight. It is a progressive self-development.
4, Achieved successes, even small steps, will spill over into other areas of life. People start believing in themselves more, like “if I can do this, then MAYBE I can try that other thing and succeed.”
I grew up as a nerd. I believed in my ability in math, physics, etc. In fact, I was a #2 at the city Math competition in High school. Not bad. However, my public speaking was pathetic, and I avoided physical education like a plague. How I got into martial arts and stuck with it for over 30 years, is still a mystery. But it definitely helped me to develop confidence in other areas too.
I’d like to suggest an nice book by a friend of mine, Carmen Parks. She is a belief Coach, and she’s helping people to set goals, change some daily habits and to overcome self-doubt in 7 simple steps. You can even get it as a free audiobook (Click on the link)
“How to Believe In Yourself: A 7-Step Guide for Overcoming Fear and Self-Doubt” by Carmen Parks
