Our Ultimate Selfie…
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you are having a great day wherever you are! Let’s breathe and smile.
I read an interesting quote recently. It says, listen carefully, “I am not what you think I am. You are what you think I am.” Think about it for a second. Yes, it’s just another version of famous saying “A man sees in the World what he carries in his heart.”
However the former is addressing more specific topic, which is connecting with others.
People will like or not like you. They may call you names, admire you, hate you. They will express their opinions of you without even bothering to get to know you. Is that unfair? Not really. It is exactly what it is, and it has nothing to do with you. Those people are simply creating their own portrait. Or we can call it today, the ultimate selfie, the picture of their heart.
Look at them, and you will instantly know who they are by observing how they treat you or anybody around them. Especially how they treat those who look insignificant to them.
There’s a flip side, my friend. The way you and I treat everybody around us, has nothing to do with them. We are just presenting our own heart selfie for everybody to see. Keep it in mind.
I already discussed it more than once, and I am still coming back. In fact, this topic is so close to my heart. Growing up as a nerd, an introvert, a social reject, I saw the whole World turning away from me, while in fact, it was me who was turning away from the World. There was nothing wrong with the World, except my stinking thinking. Sorry if I sounded emotional, because I guess I am.
Thanks for listening.
Oh, if you’re in Phoenix, I am starting my new Qigong class in Scottsdale today at
Valley Martial Arts Academy
