The third law of Newton says, “For every action there’s an equal and opposite reaction.” Yep, this is basic physics. You push on the ground with your weight, and the ground pushes back with equal force. They are equal, that’s why you are not sinking or flying up.
I think this basic physics law is applicable to our every day communication and dealing with the World around us. I call it “immediate reciprocity.”
Look at this. When you smile at somebody, you are actually elevating your own mood. As soon as you wish somebody a good day, your own statement comes back to you at the exactly same moment you send it out. And it works as a positive affirmation for you as well as for the other person, simultaneously. You cannot send the light out without projecting it back at yourself.
You may say, “Jin, I know many people who send out negative emotions, and they look so happy about that.” Let me tell you, my friend, they may feel good temporarily because putting people down is the only way they can feel good. However, they just reaffirm in their subconsciousness that they are so worthless and cannot amount to anything significant, and they need to put other people down to feel better about themselves. So in fact the law of immediate reciprocity works perfect: they destroy somebody else’s mood, and at the same time they destroy their own self esteem. It will accumulate and create rather ugly results.
If you see people like that, don’t judge them. Just reply with a smile and a wish for a great day. After all, you are creating your own great day at the same time. Think about that.
Now let’s breathe and smile. Thanks for stopping by. I will talk to you next time.
PEACE!
