Running Circles…

It talks about the king who bought himself a nice war horses. However, the king was not the most generous man, to say the least. And he did not want to lose horses power, nor did he want to invest in horse training. His idea was to put horses to work on the field moving the wheels of the water pump. This way fields would get water, horses would get exercises, and there was no need to buy additional field horses. What a genius the king was, wasn’t he?
However he did not expect the problem! One day the war happened, and king’s soldiers got on the horses and went to the battle. As soon as horses felt the whip, they began running in circles, just the way they were trained. Remember, they were field horses for quite a while. Well, the king lost. But here’s the lesson from the tale.
I’ve heard from many coaches that success happens when the opportunity and preparedness meet. I learned from John Maxwell that many people are saying, “when I get the opportunity I get ready.” And that is one of the biggest mistakes. That’s one of the reasons people fail. You don’t get the opportunity and then get ready, you get ready and then get the opportunity. Remember the horses.
Listen carefully, my friend. If you have any desire to make changes in your life, don’t wait for the opportunity to appear. Start changing now. Get right training, not just spinning the wheel. Don’t be like a horse on the water pump. Because when the right time comes, you may want to get in action, not just keep running circles. Think about that.
