Today I will talk about jogging.

Yes I used to jog at some point of my life for a couple of years. As a child, I was not in sports. However once I got in martial arts, I realized I needed to do something about my worse then average physical condition. So I found in a scientific magazine an article about jogging. Running marathons became very popular in early 80s. It had charts and very clear program. And being a nerd, I loved charts and numbers.
According to that program, I had to find a running pace at which I could keep running for one minute. Just one. Then walk for 2. (Well, actually walk for three minutes as I found out after I recorded the episode. But you’ll figure it out looking at the chart 😉 )
Repeat that 4 times, and that was it. Easy. Even I could do that.
The program was designed in such a way that it was putting running and walking in various patterns, so even though the total running time was increasing, the physical load stayed about the same. So within about 3 months I got from one to 30 minutes of jogging. I did that during my school year, and by the next summer I was able to run easy for 1 hour cross-country during the summer day. Not in Phoenix though, otherwise I might not be talking right now, huh 🙂
I am telling you that because jogging is actually one of the simplest things to do for your health. Definitely one of the cheapest, since you don’t have to pay for the classes, like in Yoga or fitness.
Well, I don’t jog any more, I like elliptical and small trampoline which I can use at home. But jogging may be good for somebody who thinks, “where can I start?” You can start right here, from one minute of jogging.
Now, listen carefully! I am giving you my jogging schedule. You can find it below and download for free.
OK, now I have to remind you to talk to you doctor before doing anything, alright.
