I met quite a few people over the past three decades who told me they tried Yoga, meditation, Qigong or similar practices, and it just did not work for them. Is that possible? Yes it is. And today I’d like to share with you a secret about how to make this practice work for anybody. Is it OK?
I think this Secret was well described in a famous cartoon “Kung-Fu Panda”:
– There’s no secret ingredient!
Let me make a bold statement: Practice creates results. Always. Case closed.
Now, keep in mind a couple of things.
First, by practice I mean consistent activity. This is not try-it-once and make a decision deal. You may like or not like the teacher, the studio, the approach, that is a different story. But you have to stay with the program. Perhaps you know the story about A Tortoise and a hare. Tortoise wins the race because of Consistency.
Second, if you don’t like it, try something else. Find the teacher you like, studio where you feel comfortable and approach that fits your personality. But be consistent. Trying a free class for a week won’t take you far other than help you understand if you like the studio.
On my site HPLN.ORG I have a link to a wonderful event that happens in March every year, that is Sedona Yoga Festival. An amazing event to go to and experience many different styles and approaches. I highly recommend it.
So, the secret is just doing it. Now it’s up to you to make it happen.
Thanks for tuning in! You can subscribe to my podcast, and find interviews with various teachers on my site HPLN.org.
Now let’s breathe and smile. I will talk to you next time.
PEACE!
