Advice on Avoiding Physical Assault
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you are doing fabulous in your corner of the World! Let’s breathe and smile.
I will be a bit heavy on you today. Ready?
I used to watch many action movies. The women’s assault segment was practically the same: she gets attacked, tries to fight, hits the attacker with something she can reach, and then she runs away. Unfortunately, Murphy’s Laws always work, so the girl gets stuck, then the attacker gets to her, and we are watching the rest of the movie about what happened.
First, I’ve heard from my older brother many years ago, never ever ever hit and run. The hormones in the other guy kick in, and he won’t feel any pain, he becomes a monster you may not be able to control.
Second, my martial art teacher told me, never leave your opponent until you are finished with him. It does not mean to kill. You can tie his hands with a rope, but you have to be certain that he is not coming after you. Yeah, I was trained to survive, not to compete.
Listen folks, guys and especially girls! I have many friends, yoga and meditation teachers. Beautiful souls! I am teaching Qigong, meditation and Taoist Yoga too! And I teach to do everything possible to avoid fighting.
But when it comes to your life vs. his, you won’t be able to yoga him into submission. And remember one rule: unless you’re ready to sacrifice your life for the sake of his, never ever ever turn your back on a wounded enemy.
And what should you do? Take a self defense class for a start, but not the sports, for goodness sake! I may be able to recommend a couple.
OK, I told you I’d be heavy. Thanks for stopping by.
