005 – Five Minutes of Non Judgmental Attitude. Or At Least Two?

Today I’d like to talk about what makes day a great day.
I remember I was talking to a Zen teacher several years ago.
She suggested, “Try to live just five minutes a day without judging anybody and without giving your opinion about anything. Just accept it the way it is.”
“That is really hard,” I replied.
“You see, you did not last even 5 seconds,” she said and smiled.
What makes a day a good day or a bad day? That’s simple. We do.
As my teacher told me, “What’s wrong with the present moment if we don’t think about it?”
My friends, a day is just a day. What makes it great or not so great is us, our attitude. How we choose to see it. We have complete control over our attitude, but not everybody knows how to operate the central computer inside our head.
This is one of the things I practice and teach. Let’s start right now with just a deep breath…. Breath in…. and out… imagine yourself smiling. Let’s make this day great! What a great day today is, isn’t it?
