Yesterday I was talking about question “What?” as opposed to “How?”
Today we’ll talk about what I think is the most important question to answer on the way to achieving any goals in life.
Now, a disclaimer: if you are not thinking about achieving any success in life, if you are happy with where you are now, stop this recording NOW.
Here’s a question: Why are we doing what we are doing? And I hear people say, “I go to work to get money, to pay my bills, to pay my rent, to make my house payment”, etc. Yes, I know. That is all right path. But let me tell you my friend, unless you are passionate off the charts about what you do at work, then going back and forth to your job won’t bring you to any satisfaction or feeling of significance. That’s why I’ve seen so many people covering bitterness of mediocrity with denial and sarcasm.
You have to know why you are doing what you are doing. Is it something that you are passionate about? Is it something that brings you to life? Is it what you are good at? Do you feel inspired thinking about your purpose in life? Or are you just going through motions in life because you never really took time to think what would you like to do and why would you like to do it?
I would encourage you to take some time to think and answer the question. If you are living your passion, God bless you. If not, then what would you like to do? And why?
I am just stirring up your thoughts. There’s much more to the goal setting than just answering one question, but I think this is the most important one. However, let me give you a warning: you may not like the answer. We will be talking more about that.
Thanks for tuning in! You can subscribe to my podcast on my site HPLN.org.
Now let’s breathe and smile. I will talk to you next time.
PEACE!
Jin
