Mindful Sharing in Our Life
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you are doing terrific in your corner of the World! Let’s breathe and smile.
Many years ago I heard a joke, about a man who had a chance to talk to God. God said, “I will give you anything you wish. But there’s one condition: your neighbor will get it twice as much.”
The man answered, “Father, can you please take out one of my eyes?”
This would be a fun joke if it was not so sad. Indeed, this is what I’ve observed on numerous occasions. Not eavesdropping on conversation with God, of course. But this type of thinking is quite common in the World. Like, I won’t give it to you even if I won’t ever use it myself. Or, I’m willing to suffer as long as my neighbor suffers more. Especially if we are talking about vengeance. What a self-sacrifice! Not really.
Speaking of such a sacrificial vengeance, I must admit I used to be that guy. If I cannot win then I pull you down so we both lose. Fair enough?
When I say I’ve come a long way, it’s an understatement. I definitely can give hope to anybody.
There’s a proverb about a man who died and went to heaven. Before going to his final destination, he asked a guardian angel to show him hell.
Once he got there, he saw very nice place with abundance of food on the tables. However, everybody there had a really wide round collar on their necks, so they could not get the food into their mouth.
The man looked at them and ask an Angel. “Why can’t they feed each other?”
“If they knew how to do it, they would not be in hell!” the Angel said.
Think about it, my friend!
