I remember long time ago my grandma told me the story about a man who always said that whatever God does is for the best. Then one day he got in jail. Everybody was making fun, what are you grateful for now? Little did they know… That was a beginning of WWII. German planes flew over town at night and destroyed everything, except jail.
I’ve learned many years ago a simple mantra: for all things say thanks. Not just for things that are pleasant. Not just for something we like. And the reason I am grateful for everything, is that I doubt I will ever know the alternatives.
I’ve learned not to complain about things I don’t have, but be grateful for the things I do have. I may not have something I like, but somebody somewhere is happy with much less than what I have.
Here’s a couple of practical points I’d like to make:
First, if I worry less, I can think creatively more.
Second, I believe in the law of attraction. We get what we think about the most.
My friends, be thankful for what you have. Zig Ziglar said, “The more things you are thankful for, the more things you will have to be thankful for.”
And finally, a short tale. I am not trying to be religious, but I think this is a good one.
One man died. After he got to Heaven, he looked back at his life and noticed two sets of footprints on the sands of time. One was his, and another one – God’s
Both footprints were going together except some moments, that happened to be the darkest moments in that man’s life.
“God, how come you left me alone at those dark moments?” man asked.
“I didn’t.” God answered. “During those moments I was carrying you in my hands”
I am thankful that you’re listening to me today. I am thankful for everybody who made my life possible. What are you thankful for today? Think for a moment.
I will talk to you next time.
PEACE!
Jin
