Lessons from Kung-Fu Panda
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you are having a fantastic morning! Let’s breathe and smile.
Today we’ll talk about a very popular cartoon: Kung-Fu Panda. I like it. And I am not going to debate the quality or accuracy of every small detail. But there are some concepts that really resonated in me. I think even adults can learn a lot, but especially kids because they are the primary viewers.
Here we go!
1 – Keep your dream! Everything begins with a dream. Don’t try to “get real”.
2 – If you stand up for what you believe, you will get it.
3 – One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it. Sometimes we should not run away from our fears. We have to stand up and face them. Go through them.
4 – Belief! Remember Oogway’s last wish: belief! You have to believe in yourself! This is huge!
5 – There are no accidents. I believe that. Everything has some meaning. Everybody has a unique place in life.
6 – Don’t be somebody, be yourself. If you are Panda, be the best Panda.
7 – Your biggest fault may become your biggest asset. Just don’t see it as negative, learn to use it to your advantage.
8 – You cannot grow an apple from the peach seed. I think this goes without saying. Don’t try to shape somebody to become what they are not.
9 – Live in the Present. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery. That’s the whole Zen concept here.
Finally, 10 – There’s no secret ingredient! To make something special you have to believe it is special. Again, belief is here too.
I hope it makes sense. If you haven’t watched Kung-Fu Panda yet, please do! Real fun!
