Gratitude for the Gift of Giving – My Gratitude Video Note #7
One of the greatest gifts in my opinion is a Gift of Giving… There’s a story about a man who was going through the desert. He was walking for a long time with no food and very little water. At some point he noticed a dark object on the sand far away. As he came close, he found a stranger who was almost unconscious. The stranger asked for some water. But the man did not have much. He did not give it to the stranger, and he left.
When the man crossed a large sand dune, he found a nice little lake on the other side. Perhaps he felt as close to the heaven as it could get on the Earth. After the man got some rest in the shade by the lake, he remembered a poor stranger who was on the other side of the dune. The man got some water and went to find the stranger. And he did, but the stranger was already dead.
Sometimes we walk through life, and it does feel like a desert. We may feel lost in it, and we may believe that we have nothing to give. But what happens if we see somebody who has a greater need? Can we help or will we wait until there’s nobody around us any more?
I am grateful for the ability to give. I am grateful I can find somebody I can give to. And giving does not always mean things. Zig Ziglar said that ‘Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile and a grateful heart.’
I am grateful that in spite of all of my past mistakes, life still gives me the chance to give, to share and maybe to change somebody’s life. I am so grateful for the chance to share this message today with you, my friend.
When life is giving us a chance to give it means the Creator knows that we are still worthy to give. Think about that, my friend, as you listen to the music.
Thanks for stopping by. I’ll talk to you next time. If the video player is not working, you can watch it on YouTube.
