Have you noticed that cats don’t waste their energy? They like having a good time, all right, but if they don’t like something, they’ll ignore you and whatever you have to offer. And then they go to sleep. Any time. Anywhere. Nice!
You see, I met some people who have a really hard time saying “NO” to many things in life, and later they regret. In cat’s world NO means NO.
Cats are persistent. If something doesn’t work, they will do it again, and again, until they get it.
Cats always find a way to entertain themselves. Something silly, like a shoelace, to have fun with. And I can totally relate to that. Not that I play with shoelaces, except when I was learning different ways to tie shoes, but I always try to find ways to keep myself occupied with what I have. As a kid, I didn’t know what it means to be bored. We often start loosing it as adults. Let’s try to keep it simple.
I’ve always been fascinated by cats’ ability to be in the present moment. They go from complete relaxation to lightning fast 4 feet vertical or side jump, after which they instantly relax like nothing happened. I wish I could do it that easy.
Finally, they have an amazing sense of balance, and they are very confident about that. Look at the cat resting on the balcony handrail on the 9th floor, with half of the cat’s body hanging in the air. That’s confidence, folks! I need to borrow that.
Animals can teach us many things.. well, I’m talking about myself here. Just got to be smart enough to learn.
Now let’s breathe and smile. Thanks for stopping by. I will talk to you next time.
