Have you ever experienced this phenomenon: if you buy a new car, all of a sudden you see that there are so many people who drive exactly same model. Where did they come from?
Our mind has ability to draw our attention to whatever we are thinking about. Moreover, if we don’t possess what we’re thinking about constantly, our mind will find ways to get it.
I think this phenomenon has been used in every religion and philosophy I am aware of. It is also used as the main mechanism for personal transformation and achieving goals. Any goals, basically.
Here’s a simple formula for creating a vision, which is the first step to achieving goals:
– Imagine yourself one year from today. What is it that you’d love to have?
– Make sure your goals are physically realistic. Like Jumping to the Moon by the next year is not.
– Find a board, even just a piece of cardboard
– Find pictures of what you want to have, and be very specific
– Cut those pictures out and Glue them to the board
– Keep it in a place where you can see it all the time. Remember, out of sight – out of mind.
– Finally, stop asking yourself how you can get that. Your mind will find solutions if you remove redundant questions out of the way.
That is called a vision board. There’s more to goal setting than what I said, and you will need to start moving in that direction. But this is a good start. Find yourself a coach to guide you through the process. Also, I will be hosting a coaching channel soon. Stick around.
