I met people who ask me question, how much can I achieve with just a smile?
With one smile, perhaps, not that much. Sometimes you can. However, the power of Inner smile, just like any other technique, is in consistency. There’s a phenomenon known as Compound effect. I read in the book called the Slight Edge that compound effect is a result of doing small, tiny things, every day, or is a result of not doing small things every day.
In fact, Slight Edge is working all the time, whether we want it or not, whether we pay attention or not. It is working for us, or against us. What would you choose? And I see so many people get surprised by what happened all of a sudden. No, in many cases it does not happen all of a sudden. There is a long preparation period, during which we do, or we do not, small, tiny things.
I am bringing up this topic because if we don’t pay attention to tiny every day activities, we become drifters, and Slight Edge will be working against us. Let’s don’t let it happen.
My friends, no matter where you are, who you are, what you do, as long as you are capable of moving your body, every day you will be putting one foot in front of the other. Are you mindful of your tiny every day steps? Are you aware of your actions?
Think about it for a few seconds.
