“Who Cares” Attitude…
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope life is treating you great! Let’s breathe and smile.
Not long ago I found a poem on the internet. It was written in 1938 I believe. But I think those words are still valid in today’s society. Maybe even more than ever. Just listen:
“For some men die by shrapnel,
And some go down in flames.
But most men perish inch by inch
In play at little games.”
I’ve seen it in the society. I call it The Gray Mass. They are people who just don’t care. About Society. Nature. Family. Anything .
They live in their tiny World. All they want are their toys, food and a little den to hide in.
No, I am not judging. Growing up as an introvert and social outcast, I put my name on the top of the list. So this is my self talk, so to speak.
It is not easy to escape the Gray Mass, trust me. Einstein wrote, “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” Once people show any signs they care, they will meet opposition. Immediately.
And those people are not necessarily bad. They may be nicest people who preach love to each other. They hug, smile, dance together and sing Kumbaya. They don’t judge anybody, so they say. But when it comes to reality, they’re just too busy to care. The only thing bad guys need is a bunch of good guys who do nothing.
Bruno Jasienski wrote, “Don’t be afraid of friends for all they can do is betray you. Don’t be afraid of your enemies, for all they can do is kill you. Be afraid of indifferent because with their silent agreement all betrayal and killing happens.”
There’s no status quo in life. “… he not busy being born is busy dying,” Bob Dylan wrote.
I can choose to sit and burn my time minute after minute, but I better get up and make an impression in something other than my couch. How about you?
Thanks for stopping by.
