Danger of Overrated Dreams
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you’re having a magnificent day! Let’s breathe and smile.
Many years ago I heard a great advice from my coach. And recently it came up in another message from a different coach of mine in a slightly different form. Now, listen carefully! This may sound controversial.
These are 4 steps to success my coach taught me:
1 – Get the Dream.
2 – Create the Plan.
3 – Forget your Dream.
4 – Work your Plan.
What that really means, dream is extremely important, all right! It’s number one on the list. But we often start paying too much attention to it. We think in global categories, and we often forget, and I will quote John Maxwell, “… dream is free, but the journey is not.” It does require daily work. If you want success come before work, just read the dictionary. That’s the only place where it happens.
And trust me, I will be first one to confess, I am guilty. Yes, I want success. Yes, I have some big dreams. And I would sit and fantasize about my big dreams, and I would ask my coach for some advice and directions. And my coach would say, “Show me your calendar. What did you do today? Yesterday? Day before?” He already told me what to do. Many times. All I have to do is go and start doing those small steps. Every day.
My friends, why don’t we stop trying to solve the global crisis in our mind. Why don’t we stop philosophizing about how great it would be to get our biggest dreams come true. Why don’t we just go out and do something that will contribute to this big dream. Today. Tomorrow. The day after. Think about it.
Thanks for stopping by.
