Let’s talk about the Biggest Mistake
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you’re having a terrific morning! Happy March 1st! Let’s breathe and smile.
I will start a new month with another story from my teacher.
The Snake was relaxing on the rock, when the Eagle fell down from the sky like a stone. The Eagle grabbed the Snake and instantly got up in the air. The Snake did not resist, hanging loose in the Eagle’s claws, like he was dead.
The Eagle was so proud and happy, taking the Snake to his nest. Once he got there, he let go of the dead Snake, looking forward to a great dinner. However at the moment when the Eagle lost his alertness, the Snake bit him on the neck, and crawled away.
Perhaps the Snake was a student of the Calm Ones. He instantly admitted his mistake in a first place, and he understood that the worst thing he could do was trying to make this mistake greater by fighting with the Eagle in the air, which was so far outside of his element. So he waited for the right moment.
Now, I totally understand the emotional pressure that happens if things don’t go well. Yes, the nuclear explosion can significantly ruin plans for the afternoon. I am an ex-military, I was trained to make decisions under pressure. However, I must admit that I’ve done some dumb things. So for me, this is the first hand experience. And I am telling you, the worst thing in those situations was trying to correct my mistakes by making another greater mistake. It doesn’t matter if you are on a battle field, or in business, or in personal relationships. All the same.
Stop for a second, re-assess the situation and decide what is the best tactic for you, so you can use your strength and circumstances to your advantage.

Stop by Resources page where you can find links to some of the books I recommend I’ve read over the past couple decades. Many of my episodes actually come out as my reflection on those books.
