The Stone of Knowledge
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you’re having a fabulous morning! Let’s breathe and smile.
There’s an old story about stone of knowledge sitting in the ground by the intersection of two roads. Many people were walking by. Two women began to cry when they saw the stone. Two warriors met by the stone. They started fighting and they killed each other. Two landlords came up with agreement to put the border line through the stone. Two peasants stumbled upon that stone, but did not really noticed what it was. Two strangers were walking on the road. They saw the stone and sat down to take a rest. Two young guys were trying to compete with each other who could take the stone out of the ground, but they did not succeed. Two Taoist monks looked at the stone and kept walking for they had no business there.
That’s a story, folks. Now, you see, the stone was neutral object in this tale, and it had nothing to do with everybody’s decision. Perhaps it just became a focal point. A landmark. A reason to make a decision.
How many times do we have such a stone in our life? How many times we make decisions and then blame the stone if they don’t work out the way we like? How many times are we waiting for the perfect stone so we can make a decision?
Decision is ours, and it makes no difference whether or not we can see the stone. It’s us, not the stone. Think about that.

Also I started creating the Resources page where you can find links to some of the books I recommend I’ve read over the past couple decades. Many of my episodes actually come out as my reflection on those books. So check it out!
