127 Seconds on Second Chance
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. We are now in a year of a Monkey! Yay! Let’s breathe and smile.
I’ve heard many times people talking about the Second Chance in life. Somebody might’ve screwed up in life really bad, and now they have a chance to make things right. They say, “I’ve got the second chance”.
I know quite a few people who’ve been through some really tough times. I’ve been through some really tough times. Oh yeah, I can write a book about that. However, I don’t believe in second chances. Let me explain what I mean.
On one hand, life is a river. Time is running, and we cannot return even one second of our time. So “the second chance” is an oxymoron to some extent. This is not the second chance, this is simply a crossover to another Path which the person is choosing to take from now on.
On the other hand, there’s a Buddhist concept of 3000 realms in each moment. That means every second in our life offers almost infinite possibilities, and we are who’s making a choice. Most of people, however, see things as black and white, as right and wrong, and good and bad. Even spiritual non-judgmental practitioners, for that matter. I am not judging, I am in the bunch.
What I am trying to say, every second we have a chance to change, to do something different with our life. The second chance is nothing but an opportunity we find when we are badly hit by life and we are forced to search for another Path.
My friend, every second we have crossovers to numerous realms. Every second is the Second Chance, no pun intended. Stop for a moment. Keep silent. Think. Make a decision. Then keep moving.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks for stopping by. I will talk to you next time.
