Dominant Player, a.k.a. Choleric
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope life is treating you well wherever you are! Let’s begin with a breath and a smile.
Perhaps you’ve heard about personality types. There are many different classifications used by different authors. The one I’ve leaned many years ago, is dividing people into choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic and melancholic personalities.
One day my coach suggested that I read the book. See the links below.
Knowing personality types tremendously helps in business and in personal life. I can guess what to expect from other people if I know their type. Even though most of people are blends, it still helps to know.
I cannot relate much to choleric type. They are very dominant, very direct. They are very competitive. When you are dealing with them, remember, they can come across as rude. They don’t like indecisiveness, and if you have a hard time making decisions, they will make them for you.
They are big visionaries, but they may lose sight of smaller details. Also keep in mind, unless there’s an element of competition and showing off, you may not get a choleric easily involved into your project. They are defiant. This is what my coach called, their personality on steroids. They are running their own show, and what you do may or may not align with them. And they hate losing.
Why do we need this? Because if we know strengths and weaknesses of people we are dealing with, we can give them roles where they can maximize the use of their strength. It will benefit you, and most important, it will benefit them. Do you know your personality type? Check out those books:
1 – “Wired That Way” by Marita Littauer
