Hardest Step on My Mindful Journey
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. I wish you all a Fabulous Friday. Let’s start with a breath and a smile.
As I said before, I’ve been in martial arts, yoga and similar studies for over 3 decades. I used to jog years ago, and sometimes I go to the gym. Besides that I’ve owned several businesses along the way, and have embarked on numerous projects. So I qualify to talk on this subject, but also I observed and listened to other people, and I read some books about that.
I believe, the hardest step you’ll ever take on your Mindful Journey is the First step. It doesn’t matter if you are just starting going to the gym, or you were going before and missed it for some significant time. It is basically like starting all over, whether gym, or business, or whatever.
There’s a phenomenon known as inertia. It takes a lot of effort to overcome it. And it is basic Physics, again.
Did you know that a missile burns 75% of it’s fuel on start? That’s right!
But here’s a really good news: once inertia has been overcome, the missile gets productive inertia, known as momentum.
Obviously not everybody’s demonstrating equal amount of inertia, and it depends on personal values and preferences of each person. However it is wide spread enough to make a book about it. It is called “Magic of Thinking Big”, and it talks about failure disease known as Procrastination.
Obviously, in my early years I mastered the skill of procrastination. I played the music you hear on the background. It took me about 4 years between my first desire to learn this instrument, and the moment I went to the teacher. And I have been studying it ever since. Fortunately, there’s a cure for this condition. And you can read about it in the book.
These is a link to a book I was talking about. Check and see if they have already a FREE audiobook available:
“The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz
