Why should we be Changing Paradigm?
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope life is treating you great in your corner of the World. Let’s breathe and smile.
Thanks everybody who joined me at my live Periscope video broadcast. I plan to do it regularly. You can find me on Periscope @HPLN. You can watch a Re-play.
Many years ago I read a story about a big battle ship going at night. At some point, the crew woke up the captain. They noticed a light several miles away in the ship’s course. That other ship was moving right towards them, and it refused to change the course.
The captain sent a radio message telling the other vessel to change the course 20 degrees. The voice on the other side answered, “You change your course 20 degrees!”
The captain was not very happy. “Who does he think he is?” Perhaps, the guy on the other side of the radio did not know whom he was dealing with? The captain introduced himself. And the other person introduced himself too.
What an arrogant sun of a gun!
“You don’t understand,” the captain yelled, “I am a captain at the large battle ship. You have to move!”
“And I am a keeper at the Lighthouse.”
The paradigm we create in our life may prevent us from achieving success. Look at the captain in the story: one second he was so important to yield, his ship was so big and burly to change its course, but the next second everything changed. Changing paradigm was instant.
The same happens in our life. There’s a way of thinking we create for ourselves that may keep us from doing something outside of this box. We create our own box.
My coach told me, “Stop asking yourself a question, Can I do it?” Because our brain may answer not in a way that will benefit us. Instead, I am asking myself a question, “How can I do it?”
My friend, is there anything in your life that you doubt you can do? Re-think. Don’t let the self-imposted boundaries of a paradigm hold you back.
These is a link to a book I’d recommend. It was considered to be the most influential Success book of the 20th century! Get it if you don’t have it!
