I’ll try to be transparent with you today. I have a tendency to love people and trust them. And I never really made enemies in my life, but I had some so called “friends” who betrayed me, accused me of some things I haven’t done on purpose just to take an advantage of me. I must admit my thoughts at that moment were far from being Christian, or Buddhist, or Taoist, or whatever religion or philosophy you may believe.
While I never crossed any lines, and I’d never do, this made me think. And I will ask you, my friend, a profound question.
But first, let’s pretend you have a friend who treated you wrong. Things went really chaotic for a while. Maybe even your family suffered. All you wanted at that moment was a revenge. Can you picture that in your mind?
One day that person gets in a car accident. You are the only one around, and your actions will determine whether or not he will survive. You can walk away, or pull him out and call the ambulance.
What would you do?
What if he’s not alone and has family with him?
You can see this accident as returning bad Karma or God’s punishment.
But what if that accident was meant for him and for you as a test of your forgiveness and compassion? Hands-on test of “Love your enemies” Commandment, so to speak. Taking you to the next level in life.
I will leave you with the statement today. We forgive others not because they deserve forgiveness, but because we deserve peace. Think about that life saving lesson…
Now let’s breathe and smile. Thanks for stopping by. I will talk to you next time.
