144 – How a Simple Four Legged Stool Can Stop a Giant
Four legged stool to the rescue!

Today I will tell you a story I’ve heard several times from my coaches. It is about a young boy who was born in 1903 in the State of Ohio. As a teenager, he joined the circus, where he first became a cage cleaner, but very quickly he progressed to become the most popular entertainer of his time. His acts included lions, tigers, cougars and hyenas. While many of the lion tamers died on the job, Clyde, that was his name, lived to his old age and died from health issues.
His secret was not a whip. Not a weapon. It was… a chair. Yes, regular chair with 4 legs. When he was coming into lion’s cage, he was holding a chair, pointing it’s legs towards lion’s face. As silly as it may sound, the lion was getting paralyzed because he had 4 options to choose from. He did not have a target to focus on.
You see, quite often people don’t succeed not because they are weak, but rather because they have too many choices. And that is paralyzing their actions. Trust me, I’ve been there too. And even now sometimes I find myself staring at this metaphorical four legged stool or chair.
Think about it, my friend. I believe you have all the power need to achieve any goals and dreams. Just need to focus.
Since I’ve been talking about goal setting and New Year Resolutions lately, I have a very special gift for you. Tomorrow, January first, on my other podcast I will have a special guest, who is a John Maxwell Certified personal development coach. He will be talking about goal setting and Resolutions, and he will have free give away that may help you with setting goals for New Year.
UPDATE: That episode was already released, and you can click here to go to the notes page
Now let’s breathe and smile. Thanks for stopping by. Happy New Year! I will talk to you next Year.
PEACE!
