The year is basically over. Christmas is coming in two days. And today I’d like to address specifically the topic about how to reset the goals we did not reach. I’ve done it myself many times. And I had to reset. Here’re some things I’ve learned about resetting goals.
First, I had to stop blaming myself. There’s a saying, it is better to set your goals too high and miss them than set them too low and reach them.
Second, I would need some time to reflect on the past year.
– What goals did I have?
– What Successes did I have?
– Where should I improve?
– What obstacles did I have on the way to my goals?
– What did I learn from the past year?
Third, what do I need to change? Do I have to reorganize my schedule? Give up some unproductive time? Read some books or take courses on the specific subject? Clean my room? Huh, in fact I recently cleaned my own home office and my desk. It looks great now! Clutter gives me very negative vibes. Or you may say bad Feng-Shui. I lose productivity.
Finally, set new goals. I won’t go into details of goal setting today, I had a couple of episodes you can listen to. And I will be talking about that again. But keep in mind, goals should be physically realistic, but totally out of reach. I suggest, set them rather high. Write them down and put them somewhere you can see them daily. Hope this reminder makes sense.
