I think one of the greatest powers we have is the power of visualization. Perhaps many of you are familiar with this concept. But if you are not, listen carefully.
What visualization does, it creates in our mind an image of exact goal we are trying to reach. Whether you are playing basketball or golf, throwing darts, shooting the gun, or trying to achieve some life goals, business or personal, career, fitness, or whatever, it really helps to imagine yourself achieving these goals, in your mind, first.
I know, it is not easy to stop for a second or two and imagine yourself throwing basketball in the middle of the game. Golfers can do it though, gun or bow shooters can do this at the range as an important exercise.
In martial arts power of visualization is used a lot. Shadow boxing, for example.
I mentioned before multiple times that our brain is a dashboard of a large machine called our body. And our brain does not know difference between imaginary and real. So when we visualize something in our mind, our brain interprets it as it’s already happening. The most interesting phenomenon is that our brain makes our body act accordingly. Yes, it takes some practice, but this method is very effective. And I will be talking more about various applications of visualization techniques. So stay tuned.
If you are in Phoenix, come by my class. I am teaching about power of visualization. But whether you coming or not, thanks for tuning in! You can subscribe to my podcast on my site HPLN.org.
Now let’s breathe and smile. I will talk to you next time.
PEACE!
Jin
