To continue the topic of my previous episodes, let’s look at practical application of different elements, or simple paper, rock and scissors game.
In physical world it is obvious. I’ve been in martial arts for several decades. I’ve been challenged by boxers, wrestlers and various martial artists. One thing I’ve done, and this may not be you, but let me tell you my story, I would try to avoid playing my opponents’ game. Let me explain.
If I go against the boxer, I would never try to behave like a boxer. I would lose, period! I would avoid wrestling with a wrestler. I need to stay in my strong zone, and preferably I’d need to expand my strong zone long before I need it, so I can adjust easily and get out of the spot where my opponent is comfortable. Unless I am a boxer and a wrestler, which I am not.
Now let’s look at every day life. Let’s pretend I have an argument with a person who loves to scream. Most of the time subconsciously, my opponent will try to pull me into the screaming zone, where he is a pro, and I am a guest. Guess what, he may need this argument for recharging himself, he feels good, and I don’t. It would drain me. That’s why I will deliberately avoid aggressive fights. This is not my strength.
Does it make sense? Hope it does.
