080 – The best talk in our life, or what’s wrong with this picture?
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. I hope you are doing fabulous!
So.. what’s the best talk in our life?

Today’s topic is a bit controversial. Like I’ve never discussed controversial topics before. Huh! But today’s my birthday. Yeah, happy birthday to me! And here’s my statement today: We all know we going to die.
Most of the people I’ve met don’t really like talking about that. It kind of goes without saying. We all know that at some point we’ll have to give up our comfortable, or maybe not so comfortable spot on this Earth. We have no control over that, and we can only believe in what will happen afterwords. I am not going into that discussion now.
In the West, where I live, when somebody dies, friends and family members organize the funeral and everybody can come in to say good bye. They talk a lot of good things about that person, something they would like to remember about that person. And that’s good.
Now you may ask, “Jin, then what’s the problem?”
I remember long time ago my teacher said to me, “How come the best words about people are saved for the funeral speech?”
Wow! Isn’t that true? Those words stuck with me for many years. I observed people around me, and unfortunately I have to agree with my teacher.
Look around, my friend. People live their lives, they argue with each other, they fight, they call each other names, they embarrass family members or even spouses in conversations with their friends… And when the last moment comes they scramble for some good memories to bring up at the memorial service.
I am not trying to be harsh. I just want to put it into a different perspective.
Why don’t we just love each other? Why don’t we say some good words of appreciation now? Don’t wait for the right moment, because the right moment may be one day too late. Think about that.
Thanks for tuning in! You can subscribe to my podcast on my site HPLN.org.
Now let’s breathe, smile and enjoy the life. I will talk to you next time.
PEACE!
Jin
