Chance of a Lifetime…

There’s an old tale that you perhaps already know. It talks about a great Christian man. He believed in God and lived a righteous life.

One time however, the flood happened in town where he lived. The water started coming in when his neighbor knocked on the door.

“Come with us, I have an extra seat in my car. But we need to leave now,” neighbor said.
“Don’t worry,” the man answered. “God will save me.”

The water was rising. It covered the first floor when the man saw the boat.
“Get in the boat, we’ll save you!” people yelled.
“Don’t worry, God will save me,” the righteous man answered.

The water was rising. A man was sitting on the roof when he saw a helicopter flying over the town saving people. However he refused to take the rope ladder, saying that God will save him.

Well, the water got high, and the man died. When he got to Heaven, he asked God, “I believed in you, how come you did not save me?”
“I sent you a car, a boat and a helicopter,” God answered. “How come you did not use it?”

My friends, how often are people running around and looking for the opportunity, or for the chance of a lifetime? We’ve heard famous “Ask and you shell receive”. What happens when we do receive? Will we recognize the blessing if it does not always look the way we expect it to look? I will let you think about that.
