There was a city in the desert. Ha, perhaps Phoenix in Arizona? No, not really. But there was a city. A traveller from another city came to the gate and asked an old man he saw, “How good is this city?”
“How good was the place where you are from?” the old man asked back.
“It was dirty and full of criminals,” the stranger answered.
“You will find the same here,” the old man said.
Another traveller arrived to the same gate and ask the same man the same question.
“How good was the place where you are from?” the old man asked back.
“It was beautiful, clean, with a lot of wonderful people,” the stranger answered.
“You will find the same here,” the old man said.
My friends, the moral of the story is simple: no matter where you are, there will be good and bad. All depends what are you looking for, I called it directional mindfulness. We will find what we expect. I am not saying you should stay in one place and be content. No! But changing expectations and attitude will help you to get the best our of any situation you are in. We’ll talk more about it. Until then, think a couple of minutes about what do you like the best about where you are in life now.
