Ways to Create Complicated Mindfulness
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you’re doing fabulous! Let’s breathe and smile.
Einstein said, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
When I look around, I see the World that is made of rules, regulations, instructions and disclaimers. We’ve come a long way from 10 Commandments, haven’t we?
I understand, we live in the society that requires a lot of regulations. Got it! I wish we didn’t need the army of lawyers to understand those rules. That’s another story.
But people have a tendency to make very simple things so complicated. There are many reasons why, I’ll just concentrate on three today.
I’ll start with avoiding personal responsibility. When I talk to people and tell them that being happy and successful is a decision, they sometimes even become aggressive protecting their perspective. Because it is so convenient to blame somebody or something for things we are not doing. Besides, self-pity is so pleasing to our ego.
I may be stepping on somebody’s toes now. But I’ve done it too, that’s why I can see right through it.
To look more important is another reason. I’ve done it too, trust me. In today’s world it becomes very popular to use terminology that makes us look so significant. And the less we understand the subject, the more we tend to complicate it.
Finally, fears can be another reason. Fear of losing job, fear of being sued, fear of getting sick, fear of dying. Perhaps, fear of looking at the present moment and realizing that we are not in control of anything. Our Ego does not like it.
So, What can we do?
We do have control over two things: Our actions and our attitude. Yes, it is so simple. But it can change the whole world, and certainly it can make our life much more fulfilling. Think about it!
