Beware of Destructive Feelings!
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. What a Magnificent Day it is! Let’s breathe and smile.
A while ago I was listening to one or my coaches. He’s a very successful businessman. And he said, many people scream success, but when it comes to a real action, they do what they feel, not what they need to do. And I’m guilty. I know what I need to do, but well, I don’t really feel like doing it today. Can you relate?
Also, last year I was listening live to Jennifer Beckham, who’s a writer and a speaker. But in her early carrier she was playing Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty at Disney. And no, guys, that was not a Mickey Mouse talk. That was a gut check for many men. I got emotional.
Yesterday I was listening to the recording of that talk. I came home late night, and I was sitting in the car listening till the end. I could not stop. I felt tears were choking me when she was talking how one meeting with a terminally ill boy changed her whole perspective on life. I won’t tell you the story, read her book.
This is what we often do, including yours truly. We may have a dream. A purpose. A mission. But we look at our life and see what we don’t have. We get upset about how many people don’t appreciate our effort. And we don’t feel like doing something. We start giving ourselves a pity party. Or maybe even become suicidal, like Jennifer.
Here’s a book I was talking about:
The world may not care about you. But one soul may be searching for your help. Is it worth your effort or do you not feel like it today?
Disney princess told us, “Get Over Yourself!” And this is what I will leave you with today.
Thanks for stopping by.
