About Rebellious Mindset
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you’re having a tremendous day! Let’s breathe and smile.
When I was growing up, I was told that the best way to advance in life was go to school, get good grades, go to the university, get nice degree, and then go get a good job. Well, I grew up in the society where there were no options for the other destination besides the job.
But this is what I see in the US as well. And this is supposed to be the land of opportunities. I certainly did not come here looking for a job. That’s another story for a different talk.
What I’d like to point out, whatever you decide to do in your life, no matter how great the idea is, there will be people telling you that you cannot do it. They will give you all the data and facts just to “protect you.” And it may be true.
You might’ve experienced that. I surely have!
But listen, in 1950s, there was a popular belief that a man could not run the mile in 4 minutes. The scientists were stating that the human body could not tolerate that much of a physical load. Guess, how much did it take to prove the whole scientific world wrong? Just one man. Roger Bannister broke 4 minute mile record in 1954. Since then there were many athletes doing the same. And now 4 minute mile is like a stepping stone on the way to the real sport.
Sometimes we have to do the same. The whole world may be saying it cannot be done, because nobody’s done it. Just don’t let them get in the way of those who are doing whatever the World is saying cannot be done. Think about it.
