When I was a kid, quite often I had various ideas. And there was always somebody who did not like my ideas. That is quite typical in children’s world. Right?

Well, I grew up. Yes, I did. And I can still see the same concept going on in the society. Have you had anything like that happen to you? Should I take it personal?

At some point I actually did. But fortunately for me, I met a good coach who taught me the rule of numbers I will share with you today.

As I learned, no matter what I do, no matter how great my idea is, or how bad my idea is, for that matter, out of every 10 people, on the average of course, 1 or 2 will support me. On the oner hand, 1 or 2 will deny and even criticize me. Whoever’s in between will be silent observers. They may become my supporters OR my critics depending on what I do with my ideas. They want to see if I follow through.

Keep in mind, my friend, no matter what you do, you will meet 10 to 20% of people who will join you. You will find remaining 80 to 90 who will ignore or criticize you.

I was offering to make free introduction videos to holistic practitioners and yoga teachers all over the city. Great for marketing. And free. I asked 318 people. 41 said yes, and that makes 12.9%. Some said no, like I was selling them a vacuum cleaner. All right. Everybody else simply ignored me. I’m not criticizing, just telling you that 80/20 rule is working. So don’t take it personal.
