Making Educated Decisions in Life
Good morning, folks! I am Jin with Morning Mindfulness Podcast. Hope you are doing fabulous today! Let’s breathe and smile.
We live in the age of technology and internet, when everything is available instantly at the fingertips. Literally. And that is incredible. It helps a lot.
However, like in everything else, there’s a flip side. Have you heard that it takes several times more positive to neutralize the negative? I read 5:1 or even 10:1 ratio, in different sources. One thing is obvious: the negative is more potent. Maybe that’s why people like searching for negative? It’s much easier to get everybody’s attention that way, isn’t it?
Have you had anybody telling you negative things they found online about somebody or something? I feel like my friends and relatives feel obligated to do it!
I’ve heard from several coaches of mine, that internet is the largest public restroom in the World. All junk goes there, and everybody has to use it. How much credibility do you give to the writing on the wall in the public restroom?
I did this search, just for fun.
Looked up in Google:
“Mother Teresa is bad”. I got 18,100,000 results
“Pope is bad” – 87,300,000 results
“Jesus is bad” – Forgive me, Lord – 110,000,000 results
“Democracy is bad” – 144,000,000 results
“America is bad” – oh boy, – 671,000,000 results
Yes, we’re using internet. I do too, especially to find consumers’ reports on specific products. But keep in mind three things:
1. Negative people want to write reviews much more often, than positive. First hand experience here.
2. Remember, every coin has a flip side, and you may only look at one.
3. How credible the author is?
Think about it.
